First 1,000 Days Suncoast is improving lives
First 1,000 Days is dedicated to addressing racial disparities in maternal and child health in Sarasota County. The initiative tackles key issues such as higher rates of low birth weight and severe pregnancy complications among Black infants and mothers compared to white families.
A heartwarming success story is Tonika Conaway, who, with the initiative’s support, transformed her life and now serves as a co-chair on our Steering Committee. We are passionately committed to reducing social stress and connecting families with vital resources to improve health outcomes and empower parents as advocates in their communities.
